man's love is of man's life a thing apart

Location: Huntington Ms.

The catalogue of Opie's manuscripts in the Huntingdon Library includes OP38, 'Man's love is of man's life a thing apart'. While the lines are indeed in Opie's hand, they are a transcription of two stanzas from Byron's Don Juan (Canto I, Stanza CXCIV and Canto II, Stanza CXCIX) defining love for men and women.
