pg lxvRAMIST CHARTS OF DE DOCTRINA CHRISTIANA

pg lxviThe four charts display Milton's theology as a Ramist (bifurcating) system, as explained in the Introduction Section Eight. The charts are based on the work of Gordon Campbell, extended with his help into a diagram of both Books of De Doctrina, and (with some squeezing, both literal and theological) all the chapters.

Chart One shows the first bifurcation, into the two Books, on Belief and on Conduct, and thence forward from left to right the branchings of the first ten chapters of Book One.
