Editor’s Note
Pipla was a place and a spring on the northern side of Mt. Olympus associated with Orpheus and the Muses. Mamurra (= Mentula, cf. XCIV) must have written some verse. furca can be part of the human body as 'fork' in English; scandere can be used like 'mount' of animal copulation. It is hard to suggest this obscene double meaning in translation.
