Searching within the Browse list
Browsing by works

1. If you are on the Home page, click Browse Works. From any other page, click and choose Browse Works.
2. An alphabetical list of works is displayed. Each record consists of the author’s name, the work’s title, details of the edition in which it appears, and its online publication date.
3. Browse the list using the cursor or by selecting a page number. To move directly to a particular work, type it into the Jump to: box and click .
4. For each of the items listed, you can open either the work or the edition.
To open the work, click on its title.
The work opens on the Work page.
To open the edition, click on it:
The edition opens at the Edition page.
If you want to restrict your experience of the site to Classics editions only, click on OSEO Classics.
Moving around the Browse list
Moving between pages
The number of pages is shown at the top and bottom of the list on the right. To move to any of the numbered pages, click on it.
Items per page
The standard number of items is 10 per page, but you can alter this up to a maximum of 100.
Sorting the list

The entries in the list are listed alphabetically by work title.
You can also choose to order them by:
· Work Title - Z to A
· Author - A to Z
· Author - Z to A
· Date Composed (earliest first)
· Date Composed (latest first)

Depending on your subscription some works may not be available.
By default, the Browse list shows all works regardless of whether you have full-text access to them or not. To view only those works to which you have full-text access, click

Narrowing your choices

You can narrow down your results using the options to the left of the list. To toggle between displaying and hiding these options, click the appropriate or
.
By genre

To restrict the list to a particular genre (or more than one), select it and click . The Browse list is updated.
When you do this, the genre is added to the search terms at the top of the Browse list:

To revert back to the previous list, click the .
To clear all your search terms, click .
By date of work

To restrict the list to a period of composition (e.g. from 1600 to 1700), type your date range into the box and click . The Browse list is updated.
Your dates are added to the search terms at the top of the Browse list:

Using the Period Picker
Use the Period Picker to select a specific period (e.g. Renaissance) for your search. Click on the period to enter its start and end dates automatically into the date boxes.
By author

To restrict the list to a specific author, choose his or her name from the list by clicking on it. To view more author names, click .
Your selection is added to the search terms at the top of the list.

To revert back to the previous list, click the .
To clear all your search terms, click .
By language

To view only works written in a particular language, choose it from the list.
The Browse list is updated and your selection is added to the search terms at the top of the list.

By date of edition

To restrict the list to editions published within a specific date range (e.g. from 1900 to 1990), type your date range into the box and click . The Browse list is updated.

By editor

To restrict the list to a specific editor, choose his or her name from the list by clicking on it. To view more editor names, click .
Your selection is added to the search terms at the top of the list.

Removing a criterion
Once you have refined the Browse list, you may have more than one criterion listed at the top of the page.
Any of these criteria may be removed by clicking the next to it.
The list is automatically updated.

Omitting duplicate editions

Some editions may appear in the Browse list in duplicate forms. To eliminate duplications from the list, click this checkbox.
Searching within the Browse list

You can search for a term within the entries in the Browse list:
1. Type the term you want to find into the Search within results box.
2. Click .
Outputting the Browse list
Printing
To print the current list, click . A printable version is displayed in your browser.
Saving
To save the current list to a file, click , and follow the instructions given.
Sending an email link
To send an email link to the current list (regardless of whether the recipient has a subscription), click . Fill in the details as appropriate. The email will contain a link to the current list only, which will be valid for the next two weeks.
Social bookmarking
To share a link to the current list on any of over 300 sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Googlemail, etc.), click and choose one of the options.

To toggle between standard and large text display, use .
