Lotther, 1528, replying to Oecolampadius and Zwingli: in which Luther was compelled to resist further advances on his own position. 30. Marisgallus] Perhaps Philip Chabot, Francis' lieutenant-general (Brewer iv. 3495); for the restitution of Burgundy undertaken by the Treaty of Madrid had not yet been carried out (cf. Bergenroth iv. i. 76). But Margaret of Austria in Feb. 1526 spoke of a 'marshal of Borgoyne' who was to take over the duchy for the Emperor: Brewer iv. 1987.
