Sir,

I am extremely sorry that you have had occasion to send to me a second time for an answer to your letter.

The parcells which you allude to are still in the office with many others, all of which would have been sent away, had there been occasion to despatch a Messenger to Ireland, as they are rather too pg 258bulky for the post, and if you have any others, I shall have pleasure in forwarding them by the first opportunity.

I have taken care to prevent the removal of Chapman2 from the Hulks and have instituted an enquiry into some circumstances he has stated, without committing him. I have the honour to be
