Q.S.P. 25 July 1823.

Dear Sir

I have received a piece of intelligence, which in your eyes, and in those of your Secretary of State,2 I should expect to find of some importance, and which you could scarcely receive, I think, or he about to receive, through any other channel. If it be agreable to you to receive it, I am at your service here at any time to communicate it.

  •                                              Dear Sir
  •                                                 Ever Your's
  •                                                    Jeremy Bentham.

  • Richard Rush Esqr &c &c &c
  • There is little danger of my being from home: but a line from you would exclude it.
